Hello Lovlies

My outfit post was taking at the beautiful Rhodes University during the Grahamstown Festival, me and Alex has so much and we were so exhausted. There was so much to do and so little time. My peak for the trip was Rodge Goode from 5fm who performed at Prime, the best party me and  Alex's we have ever jammed to in our lives. 

This was the best weekend ever for me as i was surrounded by Art, Music, Vintage and Food. My maxi dress was so functional its velvet if your wondering and its got a lot of stretch. So i could run to shows, walk up and down the hill and still jam the whole night through. 

Lesson for the weekend: Life is a journey, make a date and fly away

Hello Lovlies

It's Friday whoop whoop! I can't get over how amazing Lianne's voice is, my friend kept on talking about her and when i sat down and finally heard her voice last year I was captivated she's so talented, and she can really perform and her presence is insane. 

Then i liked her facebook page, and was drawn in by her quirky, retro, vintage style. I secretly wish she was my sister so she could teach me how to play the guitar and we could totes share clothes. 

She's my style inspiration, she's bold, appears to be very comfortable in her skin and has fun with clothing, which is the most important thing. She comes across as being super confident, and she's not even a size zero. I love her versatility and her natural hair yey. She's also a Brit, and yoll know how much i love Britain. 

I hope your as inspired as I am. 

Lesson for this weekend : It matters not what you wear, It's how you carry yourself in what your wearing.

Wie gehts dir ? 

My attempt at Deutsche, I'm doing really well work is what i do most weeks I work for a publishing company in Bird Street, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. 

The pictures above are images from the National Arts Festival , ahhh the weather was bliss. G Town as it's casually know is so cold in winter, it even snows yes snows. This year sadly did not see any snow but the weather surprisingly was amazing, the middle of winter and i could still hop around town in a cute little velvet frock. 

The last time i did a post about my relationship status was just over 2 years ago, and 2 years later tee hee, I'm such a happy little girl. I was one of those girls post my break up who were on some I'm going to wait five years before i get into another relationship. 

He just happened, to me we met on the beach, i was walking with my friend and saw him, kept seeing him for the next month on the beach, then magically it all happened. Love is a beautiful thing when it's right, and when the love you give is the same love you receive. 

I'm blessed to share time with an incredible human being, a man, who is kind , loving , funny , smart and really hard working. Who goes HAM in church with me during praise and worship. Who never forgets to remind me to pray before we eat. 

It's the little things I guess that make a relationship beautiful, its not even about the time phrase its the two souls coming together and exploring love that God has gifted them. Being 25 years , you really start to change I've changed a lot from the past two years. 

I'm stronger , I'm wiser and more independent, and in control of my emotions and thoughts and actions. I'm beautiful the way God said it should be , I forgive more and i love cautiously. 

Most of my friends are either mothers , or due to walk down the isle. I won't compare myself or ask when will it happen for me, children are such blessings but also a lot of hard work and money and for now i could use that money to travel the world, stuff my face with macaroons and a girl can never have to many shoes right?  

Life is beautiful, it gets better with time i promise you. There are millions of people all over the world who are in pain, fighting to hold and and slowly losing grip. That was where i was last year, slowly losing grip, all i can say is don't give up on love, finding a job, finding peace , getting closer to God. Those are some of the issues i dealt with and God provided. 

His got so much more in store for me and I'm looking forward to that. Came across a really beautiful wedding video and while listening to the music, the life changing moment in the video was the vows that were said i have to share. 

Dear Future Husband : I will honor you as my spiritual head, I follow you as you follow Christ. 
I will cover you in prayer. I am reminded that every good and perfect gift comes from above, husband you are truly a gift and I  will spend the rest of my life treating you as such. I will be led by you as you have been led by Christ.

I'm stealing these for when one day , i get married and as long as it's according to Gods will, I'm in.

Been a minute right ?

I recently started a new job about almost two weeks ago now, its great lot of work but nothing I can't manage. 

I Recently did a shoot with Miss Christine Visser you guys should be familiar with her we have worked together on a number of projects. She's super talented and can't wait to work with her again in the  future. Do check out her website here Christine Visser and like her Facebook page, merci in advance. 

The theme for the shoot was a city girl somewhere in Spain in the 1940's.  I'm obsessed with really anything vintage so we drew inspiration from a period in time. Central was the back drop and to think i actually work just down the road from where we did the shoot. Call it fate maybe. 

I did all the make up and styling was so much fun.

Hello Beautiful People

It's currently winter in South Africa , so I've swapped my flip flops for boots and sneakers i mean i wore sneakers in winter but now my little feet are wrapped in woolly warm socks. 

Hot chocolate , warm blankets , movies , baking and cuddles is whats on the agenda for this winter , one thing I am grateful for is that we have days in winter when the weather in 30 degrees. Yes in winter so i have not tucked my monokini too far away , i know the sun will come out on of these days.

Work is a learning experience after the few months I've spent working in an office I'm leaning toward becoming a travel writer and fine artist , after spending six months in London i realize that the world is waiting for me to explore it , i simply can't watch life pass me by.

I've also started to take yoga a little more seriously , for me it's more about finding a balance between my body and mind. God will sort out the rest , speaking of God I've been a child of God for most of my life , i feel like I'm going through a teenage rebels stage with my Father.

I don't you you understand , he has a plan for me and I really can't wait to see my life unfold. I'm learning to lean on Gods timing , to see everything weather good or bad as part of His plan for my life , continue to seek Him , pray and make him part of every single thing in my life.

The pictures above just inspire me the blue jump suit is so amazing i could live in that this winter , i just love prints and bold colors , who said winter had to be black and grey. I'm loving the black and white trend , I've always loved the color white and I've always been a stripes girl , weather it be pants , stripes and sheer or just a lovely  stripped maxi dress. Stripes are so tres chic.

Hello Beautiful People

Feeling rather chirpy today , the sun is shining and having a good time at work and drafting my second fashion story , Im buzzing. In my spare time at work i go through my blog roll , saving anything intresting and reading as much as i can Education is key always. Your never too old to learn.

For all my international readers you may not be familiar with  Miss Pearl Thusi , she's a well know model , tv presenter and mother. I read a fashion friend daily , obessesively would be an understatment. We need more publication in South Africa that support local designers.

Back to Pearl , don't you just love this editorial ? Personally i love location shoots, the clothing, her hair "i died" her hair is amazing major hair envy , we could do a post on just how amazing her hair is , wow oh my hair. Enough about her hair. Love her energy and the retro rock n roll inspired styling "Jimmi Hendrix comes to mind. Black and White photography is amazing the contrast and the casted shadows , give the images depth and emotion.

Down town Joburg the best backdrop for this super cool ,edgy shoot.

SAFW.Black.Coffee

Hello Lovlies

Color , geometric shapes , sheer fabrics and classic structures were the trends at SAFW last week.

Unfortunatly did not get to attended fashion week this year , infact I've never been would love the oppotunity , but one day thou.

I loved Black Coffee's collection , really thought it was fashion forward and on trend , I'm not one to follow many trends but i love the illusion the sheer cat suit and the dresses are giving.

Show skin but don't show to much skin , i also loved Stoned Cherrie but however i do think the peplum trend had been done to death and some one needs to make it stop. I love Stoned Cherrie's use of color , prints and there sexy siliouttes.

We're Africans and as much as i love international trends we need to create our own , were so diverse and rich in cultures , were creative our heritage and past in well known on an international scale. We forget how influntial we are as a nation.
